Kunasenhe Fm
Type Locality and Naming
The type section is on the right bank of the Kunasen River, near the junction area of Neiwolegen River and Kunasen River, on the northern slope of Yilehuli Hill west of Fulin in Xinglong Village, Huma County (125°07: E, 51°08′N). The Kunasenhe Formation was named by Zhu Ciying et al. in 1982. Its name came from the Kunasen River in Huma County, Heilongjiang Province.

Lithology and Thickness
In the type area, the Kunasenhe Formation is characterized by metamorphosed medium- to fine-grained quartz sandstone, arkosic sandstone, graywacke, tuffaceous sandstone and acid pebbly tuffaceous lava intercalated with conglomerate, siltstone and slate. From bottom to top, the formation shows a normal grading, decreasing volcaniclastic sediment and metamorphism (Liaoning Compiling Workshop for Regional Stratigraphic Scale, 1980).
Relationships and Distribution
Lower contact
With a covered lower boundary. Regionally, the next older unit is the Anniangniangqiao Fm
Upper contact
It is conformably overlain by the Huangbanji Fm
Regional extent
It is present exposed at Xinglong in Huma County, Heilongjiang.

Depositional setting
This unit represents a variable littoral sedimentation (Nan et al., 1992). It is 560 m in the type area.
